About Us

It began with the question, “what can we do with our 7 acres besides mow,  grow a meager corn & bean crop annually, and mow some more?”  

“Honey, look at these cute alpacas, wouldn’t it be nice to have a couple?” 

“THEY COST WHAT?!” 

So ended that conversation until further investigation and research revealed profitable possibilities.   More learning, more research, and lots of planning led us from corn and beans to the graceful grazers on our pastures today. 

Our name, Stars and Stripes, is to remind us of the freedoms we have to be able to build our dream.  At Stars and Stripes Alpacas our ultimate focus is on the safety & health of our animals. We aspire for continual calculated improvements in fiber, conformation & also to maintain gentle dispositions. We are pleased with our accomplishments to date.   

We are committed to doing our part to further the alpaca industry in the U.S.A.  We offer before and after sales support, always.  When you succeed, we succeed, and ultimately the industry succeeds. 

Regrets?  Yes – not always having cameras in hand to capture those special alpaca moments that put a smile on your face and warmth in your heart.
